The Strategic Accounts & Financial Operations Specialist will strengthen our financial oversight of Matcha.com’s largest and most complex customer accounts and commercial deals.
This role will sit at the intersection of accounting, financial operations, customer contracts, and cash flow planning. The person in this role will help ensure that the financial details of major customer relationships are accurately understood, tracked, and reflected in our financial systems and reporting.
Our largest customer deals can involve complex contract terms, payment structures, deposits, allocations, pricing, freight, tariffs, shipment requirements, and other commercial conditions. This role will be responsible for translating those details into clear financial tracking and helping leadership understand the cash flow implications of major accounts.
This is a highly analytical and detail-oriented role for someone who enjoys going beyond traditional accounting and wants to understand how the business actually makes, spends, and moves money.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Financial Oversight
- Serve as a financial point person for Matcha.com’s largest and most complex customer accounts and commercial deals.
- Review major customer agreements and translate key financial terms into clear, actionable financial tracking.
- Ensure customer contracts, pricing, payment terms, deposits, volumes, timing, and other commercial conditions are accurately reflected in financial records and internal systems.
- Identify financial discrepancies, unusual terms, potential exposures, or inconsistencies and raise them proactively.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance to ensure that the financial realities of major deals are understood before commitments are made.
- Review customer contracts and related documentation with a strong focus on their financial implications.
- Track key contractual requirements such as:
- Payment terms
- Deposits and prepayments
- Customer commitments and purchase volumes
- Pricing and price adjustments
- Freight and other charges
- Tariffs or applicable surcharges
- Shipment and delivery conditions
- Credits, rebates, or other financial obligations
- Ensure financial tracking remains aligned with actual executed contract terms.
- Flag situations where operational or commercial activity is not aligned with the underlying agreement.
- Work with internal stakeholders to clarify ambiguous or conflicting financial terms.
Cash Flow Planning for Major Accounts
- Develop structured cash flow visibility for major customer accounts and deals.
- Track expected cash inflows against key cash outflows and operational milestones.
- Help leadership understand when significant customer payments are expected and how those payments align with production, inventory, purchasing, and shipment commitments.
- Identify potential cash flow gaps or timing risks before they become urgent.
- Develop and maintain practical reporting that gives leadership a clear view of upcoming cash requirements and expected collections for major accounts.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze the financial performance and cash implications of major customer accounts.
- Build and maintain reporting that provides visibility into:
- Contracted revenue and expected collections
- Customer deposits and remaining balances
- Accounts receivable exposure
- Inventory or production commitments
- Expected cash inflows and outflows
- Support month-end and management reporting related to strategic accounts.
- Reconcile financial information across accounting systems, contracts, customer records, and operational trackers.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure issues are resolved accurately and promptly.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and the broader Finance team.
- Work with Sales to understand the commercial structure and financial implications of major customer deals.
- Work with Operations and Supply Chain to understand production, inventory, purchasing, and shipment timing.
- Partner with AR to ensure customer payment activity aligns with contractual expectations.
- Act as a financial thought partner to help teams identify risks and make better decisions around major accounts.
Process & Systems Improvement
- Develop and improve financial processes for tracking complex customer agreements and strategic accounts.
- Establish clear and repeatable methods for connecting contracts, customer orders, receivables, inventory commitments, and cash flow.
- Identify gaps in existing financial systems and create practical solutions where necessary.
- Improve the accuracy, consistency, and visibility of financial data across systems and internal trackers.
- Help establish reporting and dashboards that leadership can rely on for decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience
- Active CPA license is required
- 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial operations, financial analysis, audit, or a related field.
- Strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to understand how operational and commercial decisions flow through the financial statements.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting complex contracts or commercial agreements.
- Experience working with large customer accounts, B2B businesses, CPG, wholesale, e-commerce, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-heavy businesses is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, revenue, cash flow, working capital, and financial controls.
- Advanced Google Sheets / Excel skills.
- Experience with QuickBooks and/or other accounting, ERP, or financial systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when working with contracts, numbers, and financial terms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, and Finance.
- Able to operate independently and bring structure to imperfect or evolving systems.

- Complex deals can be explained clearly to leadership in terms of revenue, cash, receivables, inventory exposure, and financial risk.
- Financial processes become more structured and scalable as the business grows.
