Job summary

Mezen Realty & Development Corp. is seeking an experienced Head of Accounting to oversee a team responsible for accurate financial reporting and statutory compliance.

The role requires a strong command of accounting software and leadership to guide budgeting, forecasting, and audits. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (Master’s or CPA preferred) with 5+ years in accounting and at least 2 in management, plus excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or CPA preferred).
• Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the budgeting process, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and provide insights.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Assist with financial planning and analysis, providing strategic recommendations.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
