Job summary

AIA Digital+ Philippines invites an experienced Storage and Backup Infrastructure Specialist to join our Technology Hub in Makati. You will manage on-premises storage systems (SAN/NAS/hybrid), backups, and disaster recovery while ensuring service availability and alignment with business priorities.

Responsibilites include 1st-level support for enterprise storage platforms (IBM FlashSystem, EMC/Nettech products), cloud integrations, and security/compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant storage and backup infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on with storage and backup technologies and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure IT service availability and minimise outages across business units.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain on-premises storage systems (SAN/NAS/hybrid).
• Perform day-to-day data backup operations and manage backup tools (IBM TSM, VTL, DSI).
• Provide 1st level support for enterprise storage platforms (IBM FlashSystem, NetApp AFF, etc.).
• Plan disaster recovery, data protection, and testing activities.
• Monitor performance, utilization, and incidents; generate reports.
• Ensure security and compliance with policies; implement access controls.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensures IT service availability and minimises the AIA’s business impact of IT service outages through the effective management.
• Contributes to the improvement of user satisfaction with IT services by ensuring that the arrangements remain aligned with business needs and priorities and fit for purpose.

Storage Infrastructure Management:

• Deploy, configure and maintain of on-premises storage systems, including SAN, NAS, and hybrid solutions.
• Monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of storage infrastructure.
• Manage storage lifecycles, including upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of legacy systems.

Backup Infrastructure Management:

• Perform day-to-day operations of data backup services, ensuring timely and accurate backups across the organization.
• Manage backup tools and technologies, including but not limited to IBM TSM, VTL, DSI, and other enterprise-grade solutions

Vendor and Technology Expertise:

• Act as the 1st level support for enterprise storage platforms such as IBM FlashSystem, EMC PowerMax/PowerStore, Pure Storage FlashArray, and NetApp AFF systems.
• Act as the 1st level support for enterprise data backup solutions such as IBM TSM / VTL, DSI.
• Work with vendors for any major enhancement and updates.

Disaster Recovery and Data Protection:

• Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for on-premises storage systems & data backup systems.
• Conduct regular testing and audits of disaster recovery processes.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
• Generate and analyze reports on utilization, performance, and incidents.

Security and Compliance:

• Work with security team to ensure systems are secure and compliant with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Implement access controls, encryption, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.

Budget & Resource Management:

• Assist to manage related budget.
• Delivery of functional objectives within budget targets
• Attainments of objectives and effectiveness of results.
• Performance Scorecard.
• Compliance and Audit Ratings.

Expected communication channels including

• Multi-language (e.g. Cantonese, Mandarin and English)
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Hands on experience on position related technical components.

OR

• An equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree holder of unviersity on Information Technology or related discipline

Technical Skills

• Deep knowledge of storage technology and data backup solutions
• Familiarity with storage and backup management tools and software
• Strong understanding of data protection, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Experience with hybrid cloud storage integrations and cloud-based backup solutions is a plus
