Job summary

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day stamping department operations to meet production plans and customer delivery requirements.
• Plan resources, monitor progress, and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Chair GO, production and operational reviews; track performance vs targets.
• Monitor production data and metrics; drive improvements and corrective actions.
• Review and approve production documents, work instructions, and processes.
• Drive continuous-improvement projects (OEE, COPQ, VSM, automation).
• Lead cost-reduction initiatives and optimize labor, equipment, and materials.
• Develop and cascade KPI targets; report progress to management.
• Coach supervisors and enhance team capabilities and engagement.

Job description

Manage the overall operations of the Stamping Department to ensure achievement of safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people-development objectives. Drive TEOA lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), thereby supporting business growth and the company's strategic objectives.

PRODUCTION OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the Stamping Department to ensure production plans are achieved and customer delivery requirements are met.
• Plan and allocate production resources, monitor production progress, and promptly coordinate the resolution of operational issues.
• Chair departmental GO Meetings, production meetings, and operational reviews, and track performance against targets.
• Monitor production data and operating metrics, driving problem resolution and implementation of improvement actions.
• Review and approve production-related documents, forms, work instructions, and processes

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

• Implement company EHS policies and applicable regulatory requirements, and promote a strong safety culture.
• Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and risk assessments, ensuring identified hazards are corrected and closed out.
• Monitor employees safe work practices to reduce the risk of injuries and safety incidents.
• Ensure effective implementation of 5S+1 and standardized workplace management.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

• Take ownership of departmental quality performance and continuously reduce scrap rates and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
• Drive process-quality improvements to prevent and reduce customer complaints and internal quality issues.
• Lead analysis of quality issues and implementation of corrective and improvement actions.
• Support customer audits, management-system audits, and management reviews.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

• Drive continuous-improvement projects involving OEE, QCO, VSM, automation, and related initiatives.
• Apply TEOA (Continuous Improvement or Lean Improvement) tools to continuously improve production efficiency and resource utilization.
• Promote digital management and visual management systems, and regularly track improvement project progress.
• Oversee key departmental improvement projects and coordinate the required resources.
• Establish and advance initiatives for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and waste elimination.

COST MANAGEMENT

• Lead departmental budgeting and expense control.
• Continuously drive cost-improvement projects to achieve annual cost-saving targets.
• Optimize the utilization of labor, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor departmental operating costs and return on investment.

TEAM MANAGEMENT AND TALENT DEVELOPMENT

• Establish and maintain job-skill matrices to strengthen overall team capabilities.
• Manage employee performance, talent development, and succession planning.
• Guide and coach supervisors, team leaders, and key employees in their professional development.
• Improve employee engagement and foster teamwork and organizational culture.
• Coordinate the resolution of employee-relations and cross-team collaboration issues.

STRATEGIC PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT REPORTING

• Develop annual departmental business objectives and action plans.
• Cascade KPI targets throughout the organization and drive achievement at all levels.
• Report departmental operating performance and improvement progress to management on a regular basis.
• Participate in plant strategic planning and business-development projects.

CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION

• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Planning, Supply Chain, and other functions.
• Support new-product introduction and capacity-planning projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources to resolve major operational issues.
• Drive improvement in overall plant operating performance.

WHAT WE NEED:

• At least 15+ years of experience in the stamping industry preferred.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of manufacturing experience; a major in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
