Job summary

Jobgether, acting as a facilitator for a partner company, seeks a Staff AI Engineer - Developer Tools based in Spain. You will lead AI-powered developer experiences, shaping workflows for C++ development, IDE integrations, and tool interactions while guiding architecture and strategy.

You will collaborate across product, ML, QA, and engineering to deliver scalable AI-enabled features and benchmarks, contributing to a mature codebase and developer tools ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Senior engineers at Staff/Principal/Tech Lead level or equivalent
• Experience in JVM languages or rapid productivity in a JVM codebase
• Experience building AI-powered developer tools, coding assistants, agents, or LLM workflows
• Strong understanding of modern coding agents, tool calling, context management, MCP, AI evaluation
• Proven ability to drive technical direction in ambiguous environments
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, influencing without formal authority
• Experience with C++ development workflows or IDE internals is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical leadership for AI-powered developer experiences
• Shape AI-powered features for C++ workflows and developer tools
• Design architectures for AI integrations, coding agents, and tool capabilities
• Prototype AI-assisted workflows for debugging, refactoring, and navigation
• Collaborate with product, ML, QA, and engineers to define roadmaps
• Define technical roadmap for AI agents and tool integrations in C++ development
• Evaluate and prioritize AI initiatives aligned with strategic objectives
• Contribute to design and implementation within a large codebase
