The Qualifications We Seek
Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 1 to 3 years of accounting or related finance experience
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Knowledge of GAAP fundamentals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
Preferred
- Experience with payroll processing
- Experience with nonprofit accounting
- Experience with journal entry preparation, bank and credit card reconciliations, and accounting record cleanup
- Experience with workflow automation
- Interest in forensic accounting
- CPA candidacy or interest in pursuing CPA or CFE credentials

What Success Looks Like
Within your first 90 days, you'll be able to:
- Independently process payroll
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping for assigned clients
- Prepare clean reconciliations
- Draft monthly financial statements
- Identify accounting issues before clients do
- Recommend at least one process improvement
Your Daily Tasks
Client Accounting
- Process payroll and payroll-related journal entries
- Record and reconcile bank and credit card transactions
- Enter accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Review and categorize receipts
- Prepare monthly reconciliations
- Record adjusting and recurring journal entries
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare draft financial statements
- Identify unusual balances and trends for management review
Problem Solving
- Investigate discrepancies in financial records
- Research and resolve accounting issues
- Recommend improvements to accounting processes
- Maintain organized electronic workpapers
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data
