Job summary

OpsWerks is seeking an experienced SRE/DevOps leader to manage a pod of 8–12 site reliability engineers through the full employment lifecycle, shaping growth, performance, behavior, and wellbeing. In a team with 60–70% junior engineers, you will decide how this population evolves toward senior roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in SRE/DevOps with 2+ years in people management.
• Strong Linux, Kubernetes, cloud, observability, and incident response skills.
• Proven coaching ability with engineers who progressed under you.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a pod of 8–12 SREs across performance, wellbeing, and career progression.
• Oversee capability ledger, training plans, and scheduled training within the rota.
• Manage shift rota, leave approvals, relief coverage, onboarding, and night shifts.
• Identify successors and build promotion cases with input from Tech Leads.
