Job summary

Octal Philippines Incorporated is seeking a Senior Network Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience to lead enterprise network design, deployment, and optimization across core, edge, and data center networks in a multi-vendor environment.

The ideal candidate will design and implement secure, scalable networks, troubleshoot complex issues, mentor a team, and collaborate with global clients across SE Asia, with willingness to travel and stay current with evolving technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in relevant field.
• 10+ years hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering.
• 2+ years leading a network engineering team.
• Extensive experience with Cisco/Juniper/Huawei networking technologies.
• Current Cisco/Juniper certification (e.g. CCNP, CISSP, PMP).
• Extensive experience with networking routing protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLAN, VPN, QoS, CG-NAT, PPPoe, MPLS, SDH, xDSL).
• Strong knowledge of network security principles and technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
• Ability and willingness to acquire new certifications as required.
• Preferred experience with cloud networking (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Preferred experience in network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible).
• Preferred experience with SD-WAN implementation and management.
• Preferred experience with data center technologies such as cooling, power, access.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete lifecycle support for enterprise network assets
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve hardware, software and network issues
• Design and implement enterprise-wide network solutions
• Legacy LAN, WAN integration and current SD-WAN and cloud connectivity technologies
• Lead large complex network transformation projects and migration initiatives
• Develop and maintain network security frameworks adhering to industry best practices
• Create and maintain network documentation, policies and procedures
• At times participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for critical network issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network capabilities with project objectives
• Work with client representatives to best address current network requirements and cyber related issues
• Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards
• Manage and mentor a team of network engineers
• Stay updated and conduct training with employees on network security threats
