This position leads the day-to-day execution of Canon's brand, communications, and public relations agenda, covering both traditional and digital channels. It owns the Canon brand across all touchpoints and guideline compliance, manages the company's online and social presence, and serves as a key link between the CEO's office, media, and the public. The role also drives corporate content and campaigns that translate business priorities into messaging that resonates with Canon's audiences.
Own and enforce Canon brand guidelines across the organization, serving as the go-to reference for internal teams and agencies.
Ensure all advertising and marketing materials released by product groups comply with Canon's brand guidelines.
Manage the Brand Management Workflow (BMW) process, ensuring a centralized, up-to-date archive of all advertisements and brand assets for internal reference and audit.
Track brand health and campaign performance, and flag risks or gaps to management.
Coordinate with product divisions on strategic advertising placements and ensure alignment with overall brand direction.
Build and protect Canon's public reputation and the CEO's public profile through proactive communications, thought leadership, and reputation risk management.
Manage media relations end to end: pitching stories, responding to inquiries, preparing media kits, and organizing press events.
Draft official company statements, press releases, and executive communications for review and finalization.
Translate technical or complex business information into clear, audience-appropriate messaging for internal and external stakeholders.
Measure and report on PR and communications campaign performance against objectives.
Set the digital communications strategy to grow Canon's online presence and engagement.
Own the corporate website and all official social media channels, ensuring content is current, accurate, on-brand, and aligned with regional platform standards.
Monitor and supervise content posted by Business Units and agencies across social channels to ensure brand and message compliance.
Track social media performance and translate insights into recommendations that support business objectives.
Ensure social media crisis response protocols are in place and ready to activate when needed.
Lead the planning and execution of internal and external corporate events.
Support Business Units in their activities and initiatives, ensuring alignment with brand, PR, and business objectives.
Identify and evaluate sponsorship and partnership opportunities that build brand visibility and align with corporate objectives.
Monitor and manage the corporate communications budget, tracking costs against approved budgets and flagging variances to management and coordinating with Finance as needed.
Graduate of Marketing, Communication Arts, Business Management, or other related courses
At least 5 years' experience in corporate communications, PR, or brand management, ideally in a consumer or IT-related industry
Strong oral and written communication skills
Working knowledge of SEO/SEM and social media management tools
Event management experience
Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
