Reviews system readiness prior to testing, including installation completion, pre-commissioning inspections, and verification of required documentation.
Monitors testing progress, resolves technical issues, and ensures timely completion of commissioning milestones.
Supervises testing and commissioning of LV electrical installations, including main distribution boards, switchboards, panelboards, motor control centers, transformers on the LV side, busducts, cable systems, and electrical power distribution networks.
Coordinates functional testing of circuit breakers, protective devices, electrical interlocks, metering systems, and distribution equipment.
Verifies electrical load distribution, equipment operation, and compliance with approved electrical design and performance requirements.
Reviews test results and identifies defects, deficiencies, and corrective actions before system acceptance.
Coordinates interface testing and integration of ELV systems with other building systems, including fire protection, mechanical, electrical, and building management systems.
Verifies device installation, cable continuity, system configuration, functional performance, and compliance with approved specifications.
Coordinates integrated systems testing, cause-and-effect testing, and operational demonstrations with relevant contractors, suppliers, consultants, and client representatives.
Ensures that ELV systems are properly documented, tested, and ready for client acceptance and operational use.
Oversees or coordinates applicable HV cable testing, insulation resistance testing, transformer testing, circuit breaker testing, relay testing, and electrical protection verification.
Coordinates with utility providers, authorized testing personnel, equipment manufacturers, and relevant authorities for energization and commissioning activities.
Ensures that HV testing, switching, and energization activities are performed by qualified and authorized personnel in accordance with approved procedures and electrical safety requirements.
Verifies the completion of required safety clearances, permits, pre-energization checks, and commissioning documentation before equipment energization.
Ensures that electrical installations and commissioning activities comply with project quality requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.
Reviews inspection requests, material approvals, equipment certificates, factory acceptance test (FAT) reports, site acceptance test (SAT) reports, and commissioning records.
Conducts or supervises site inspections to verify installation quality and readiness for testing.
Identifies nonconformities, prepares or coordinates corrective action reports, and verifies the closure of punch-list items and outstanding deficiencies.
Maintains accurate and complete testing records, inspection reports, commissioning checklists, and equipment test certificates.
Supports quality audits, consultant inspections, and client acceptance procedures.
Ensures compliance with applicable occupational health and safety requirements, electrical safety procedures, and project-specific safety plans.
Conducts or participates in job hazard analyses, risk assessments, toolbox meetings, and pre-commissioning safety briefings.
Ensures that testing and energization activities are performed under controlled conditions by qualified and authorized personnel.
Identifies unsafe conditions and implements appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
Prepares, reviews, and consolidates testing and commissioning reports, equipment test certificates, inspection records, and system performance reports.
Ensures the completion of commissioning checklists, punch lists, test records, and required technical documentation.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or any relevant course.
Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) is advantage.
With at least 5-8 years of relevant electrical engineering experience - testing and commissioning of LV, ELV, and HV electrical installations and associated equipment.
