Job summary

MEGABON CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT CORP is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and manage MPF systems for office fit-out, joineries, and hospitality projects. You will develop detailed designs, perform technical analyses, and prepare cost estimates to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.

The role requires at least 5 years in the office fit-out sector, strong AutoCAD/MS Office skills, and knowledge of MEPFS costing.

Qualifications

• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with a relevant degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in Office Fit Out, Joineries, Commercial and Hospitality.
• Knowledge in MEPFS costing and tender/BOQ preparation.
• Understanding of contractual obligations of both company and subcontractors.
• Proficient in AutoCAD/MS Office; CCS (Candy) experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs and drawings for MPF systems aligned with project specs.
• Conduct technical analysis to ensure cost-efficient and compliant designs.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MPF systems including materials and labor.
• Create BOQ and BOM from tender drawings; ensure comprehensive scope.
• Conduct site visits to verify MPF requirements and safety compliance.
• Review contracts for alignment with specifications and company policies.
• Track progress against budgets and schedules; report to management.
• Perform value engineering to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
• Maintain design documentation and calculations; file properly.
• Prepare regular project reports for stakeholders.

About the role

This role involves designing and managing mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection (MPF) systems for office fit-out, joineries, commercial, and hospitality projects. You will be responsible for developing detailed designs, conducting technical analysis, preparing cost estimates, and ensuring all work complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs and drawings for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements

• Conduct technical analysis to ensure designs are efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with standards

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, including materials, labor, and equipment

• Prepare Bills of Quantity (BOQ) and BOM based on tender drawings, ensuring all aspects of work are included

• Conduct site visits to assess MPF requirements and ensure installations comply with safety standards

• Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications and company policies

• Track project progress, ensuring adherence to performance, budgets and schedules related to MPF

• Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and performance

• Ensure design documentation, including drawings and calculations, are properly maintained and filed

• Prepare and submit regular project reports to management and key stakeholders

About you

• Must be a graduate of Mechanical Engineering

• At least 5 years experience in Office Fit Out, Joineries, Commercial and Hospitality industry

• Knowledge in MEPFS costing

• Ability to recognize contractual obligations of both company and its subcontractors

• Good experience in AUTO CAD/MS Office and CCS (Candy) would be preferred but not essential

• Able to review and measure the executed works

• Good knowledge in detailed shop drawing, coordination drawings

• Able to act on own initiative and proactive way

• Good communication skills, both oral and written
