As a senior Finance business partner, the position works closely with Business Units, Sales, Operations, Billing, Credit Risk, Treasury, Legal, and senior leadership to remove barriers to cash realization and ensure that revenue generated by the business is converted into cash within agreed commercial terms. The role provides forward-looking visibility of expected collections, emerging risks, material cash gaps, and management interventions required, while balancing collection discipline, financial risk, customer relationships, and commercial objectives to support sustainable business growth.
Whatyou’lldo
Cash Flow and Working Capital Strategy
- Lead the Company's collection strategy and customer receivables cash realization performance as a major contributor to enterprise cash flow and working capital, translating AR balances, contractual due dates, customer payment behavior, promises-to-pay, disputes, and collection risks into measurable cash outcomes.
- Establish monthly, quarterly, and annual collection targets aligned with corporate cash-flow and working-capital objectives, and drive accountability for delivery against committed collections across business units, customer segments, portfolios, and collectors.
- Develop reliable short- and medium-term cash collection forecasts, scenario views, and recovery plans; identify material forecast gaps and emerging liquidity risks early and recommend interventions to senior leadership and Treasury/Corporate Finance.
Portfolio Management, Customer Engagement and Escalation
- Design and execute differentiated collection treatment strategies based on customer value, risk, aging, payment behavior, dispute status, and strategic importance, using structured dunning, prioritization, and escalation to maximize recovery while balancing financial discipline, customer relationships, and commercial objectives.
- Lead management of high-value, complex, chronically delinquent, and strategically important accounts, including executive customer engagement, payment commitments, approved payment plans or settlements, service-suspension recommendations, legal referral, and recovery actions within delegated authority, with appropriate consideration of financial exposure, customer value, and business continuity.
- Provide actionable feedback on customer payment behavior and emerging collection risk to Credit Risk and commercial leadership, supporting credit-limit, payment-term, account-treatment, and customer-risk decisions while maintaining clear accountability boundaries between credit risk and collection execution.
Dispute Management and Root-Cause Resolution
- Own end-to-end dispute and deduction governance from identification through assignment, investigation, resolution, authorized adjustment, and closure, with clear service levels, ownership, financial impact, and escalation paths.
- Ensure undisputed balances remain collectible and are pursued independently of disputed items; maintain visibility over dispute aging, value at risk, root causes, stalled cases, and expected cash impact.
- Lead cross-functional root-cause elimination of systemic barriers to cash realization, including billing errors, documentation/POD gaps, pricing and rate issues, purchase-order insufficiency, portal requirements, operational failures, deductions, and system/process defects.
Performance Management, Controls and Executive Reporting
- Establish and govern an enterprise collections performance framework covering cash collections versus target and forecast, DSO, Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI), current versus past-due AR, aging migration, >30/>60/>90-day exposure, promise-to-pay kept rate, dispute aging, bad-debt exposure, collection productivity, automation coverage, and forecast accuracy.
- Run disciplined weekly and monthly portfolio and cash reviews that convert performance data into clear account actions, ownership, recovery dates, escalation decisions, and quantified cash-flow implications.
- Provide senior leadership with concise, forward-looking insights on expected cash collections, portfolio health, material exposures, forecast variance, structural collection barriers, and actions required to protect working capital and liquidity.
Process Excellence, Automation and Transformation
- Define and lead the future-state collections operating model, embedding customer segmentation, automated dunning, workflow-based dispute management, promise-to-pay tracking, risk-based work queues, exception management, self-service/customer digital channels, and analytics-driven prioritization.
- Partner with Business Intelligence, IT, Finance, and business teams to implement scalable collection technology and AI/automation capabilities that improve account prioritization, customer outreach, dispute routing, forecasting, reporting, control, and collector productivity while retaining appropriate human judgment and governance.
- Own collection policies, playbooks, treatment strategies, escalation matrices, service-level agreements, controls, and standard operating procedures; continuously benchmark practices and drive standardization across business units and locations.
Leadership and Organizational Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Collections and Dispute Management organization, establishing clear performance expectations, portfolio accountability, decision rights, succession plans, and capability-building priorities.
- Build a high-performance culture centered on cash ownership, customer professionalism, analytical discipline, timely escalation, cross-functional problem solving, and fact-based decision-making.
- Develop team capability in strategic negotiation, portfolio analytics, cash forecasting, dispute resolution, root-cause analysis, digital tools, automation, and executive communication to support current requirements and future organizational growth.
