Hydra Power Corp. is seeking an experienced Specifications Engineer (Electrical) to drive brand preference and ensure our products are specified in major engineering projects.

You will liaise with design consultants, engineering firms, and internal teams to support project lifecycles and maintain AVL alignment. The role requires a licensed electrical engineer, a strong network with electrical/MEP consultants, and a proven track record in specification engineering and technical sales.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; licensed preferred.
• Demonstrated network of relationships with electrical/MEP design consultants is essential.
• Experience in specification engineering, technical support, or technical sales in the electrical industry is necessary.
• Strong technical presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven solutions is important.
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative with sales and engineering teams.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Specifications Engineer (Electrical Engineer) to drive brand preference and technical specification across major engineering projects. In this role, you will serve as the primary technical liaison between design consultants, engineering firms, and internal teams. Your main focus will be building strong relationships with consultants, ensuring our products are specified in design plans, and delivering technical support throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Cultivate, expand, and maintain active working relationships with electrical design consultants, MEP engineering firms, and specifiers
• Proactively present company solutions to engineering consultants to ensure our products and technical specifications are incorporated into project design stage specifications and approved vendor lists (AVL)
• Serve as the primary technical contact for consultants, addressing inquiries regarding design parameters, product standards, single-line diagrams, and application details
• Accompany the sales team on client visits to deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and technical seminars
• Provide ongoing technical support, documentation, and product submittals to both internal sales and engineering teams
• Monitor updates to local electrical codes, industry standards, competitor offerings, and upcoming major projects requiring product specifications
• Perform tasks that may be assigned from time to time

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Registered/Licensed Electrical Engineer preferred)
• Demonstrated track record and existing network of relationships with electrical/MEP design consultants
• Experience in specification engineering, technical support, or technical sales within the electrical industry
• Solid understanding of electrical systems, standards, and engineering drawings
• Strong technical presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, value-driven solutions
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively with sales and engineering departments
