Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with planning menus, recipes, portions, and food costs.

• Monitor food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency across dishes.
• Ensure health, safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures are followed.
• Manage kitchen inventory, stock levels, and supplier coordination.
• Step in as Head Chef in their absence and lead during service.
• Maintain organized workstations and efficient workflows throughout service periods.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely meals and customer satisfaction.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team in Marikina City, Metro Manila. This is a pivotal position within our kitchen hierarchy, where you will serve as the second-in-command to the Head Chef, playing a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, consistency, and kitchen operations. As Sous Chef, you will bridge the gap between executive leadership and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations whilst maintaining our commitment to culinary excellence and exceptional dining experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Chef in planning menus, developing recipes, and determining portion sizes and food costs
• Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating standards
• Managing and training kitchen staff, providing guidance on proper cooking methods, food safety practices, and performance standards
• Monitoring food quality, taste, presentation, and consistency across all dishes prepared in the kitchen
• Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and food handling procedures
• Managing kitchen inventory, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with suppliers to maintain ingredient availability
• Stepping in as Head Chef in their absence and leading the kitchen during service
• Maintaining organised workstations and ensuring efficient workflow throughout service periods
• Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure timely delivery of meals and customer satisfaction
