Job summary

Globe Group in the Philippines is seeking a Solutions Engineer to lead the design and execution of complex data center solutions for clients. You will manage CPRs, coordinate with vendors, and ensure safe, on-time delivery while maintaining budget compliance.

You will be the primary client-facing technical representative, shaping proposals, overseeing BOMs, and guiding engineering teams through site visits and deployments.

Qualifications

• 4–6+ years of specialized experience in pre-sales engineering or design/solutioning of electrical or mechanical systems.
• Background in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Extensive data center experience with independent project execution.

• Familiarity with AI rack deployments is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Solutions Engineer acts as the primary client-facing point of contact, providing high-level strategic leadership in the design and execution of complex technical solutions. This role manages large-scale customer project requests (CPRs) and provides expert technical oversight for provisioning and CAPEX projects with minimal supervision. They are responsible for ensuring that sophisticated data center solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety and operational standards, maintaining zero impact on live operations
while driving excellence across the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Design & Proposal Management

• The scope of technical solutions is divided into the following categories:

• Infrastructure Build & Cabling: Installation of 47RU server racks, assembly of

• Hot and Cold Aisle Containment systems (polycarbonate infills, sliding doors),

• and implementation of comprehensive structured cabling solutions, including fiber

• runners, cable trays, and pathway management.

• Power Systems: Management of busway infrastructure, deployment of 3PH Tap

• Off Units (TOUs), installation of PDUs/rPDUs, and execution of rack grounding

• systems.

• Integration & Systems: Modification and relocation of environmental sensors,

• lighting, and BMS integration.

• Mechanical Solutions: Design and implementation of cooling systems, piping

• infrastructure, and execution or review of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)

• analysis for data halls.

• Testing & Commissioning: Heat Load Testing in accordance to the customer

• fit-out deployment which includes load bank rentals

CPR Delivery: Generate Customer Project Requests (CPRs) within the agreed SLAs:

• Standard Enterprise: 3 business days.

• Custom Enterprise: 10 business days.

• Wholesale/Hyperscale: 20 business days.

• AI Development: For baselining.

Customer RFI and Data/Drawing Provision: Manage RFI support by collaborating with the Sales Team, DCSO, DCES, and the Design & Construction Teams to complete customer data forms and provide relevant documents based on the selected Data Hall and Data Center Campus. This includes rigorously filtering out sensitive data (such as CAD files and design calculations). Obtain approval from top management before releasing sensitive documentation, particularly when explicitly requested by the client.

Technical Accuracy: Ensure all designs and solutions are technically sound, identifying

risks before implementation to prevent delays or service interruptions.

Handover Management: Establish and maintain a seamless handover process from the Solutioning team to the Provisioning team for all signed customer orders.

Audit Compliance: Ensures that each Solutioning project request adheres to the

approved DCSP Playbook process.

2. Proposal Management

Coordination & Costing: Generate and manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for all

CPRs by liaising with vendors to secure accurate lead times and costing, ensuring the final proposal is technically accurate and delivered on time.

Accuracy & Optimization: Ensure quantities and rates are accurate, minimize

proposals, and perform quantity surveying.

3. Vendor Management

Vendor Collaboration: Liaise with vendors on customer requirements.

Proposal Repository: Establish a vendor proposal repository for future reference.

4. Customer-Facing Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Representation: Act as a customer-facing representative,

accompany customers during site visits, and present STT GDC’s Data Center sites and Data Hall offerings.

Preferred Qualifications & Skillset

Experience & Expertise: 4–6+ years of specialized experience in pre-sales engineering

or design/solutioning of electrical or mechanical systems. Background in mechanical or electrical engineering required. Extensive data center experience preferred, with a proven track record of executing complex projects independently.

Leadership & Client Engagement: Advanced client-facing abilities with the capacity to act as the lead technical representative. Strong leadership skills to mentor junior engineers and liaise strategically with internal stakeholders and vendors to drive high-impact proposals.

Technical Acumen: Strong foundational understanding of data center infrastructure, solution design principles, and comprehensive risk identification. Familiarity with emerging technologies like AI Rack deployments is a plus.

Autonomy & Compliance Oversight: Self-driven mindset with the ability to execute projects with minimal supervision while ensuring total adherence to the DCSP Playbook.

Responsible for the technical accuracy of the team and the rigorous management of sensitive data.

Operational Execution: High persistence to manage stakeholders and chase approvers to meet strict project SLAs and obtain necessary management approvals for sensitive data release.

Continuous Learning & Adaptability: A proactive mindset committed to continuous professional development, ensuring deep understanding of emerging technologies (Examples are AI deployments, high-density cooling solutions and future data center architectures).

Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for tracking and BOMs) and

document management platforms (SharePoint, Google Drive, or similar).
