Staff Domain, Inc. is seeking a Draftsman to convert client-approved engineering drawings into detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.

The role involves refining existing drawings, producing non-standard plate exports and CNC router files, and ensuring compliance with drafting standards for manufacturing readiness. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of drafting experience, strong SolidWorks skills, and familiarity with ERP or PDM systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience in mechanical/industrial drafting.
• 3+ years experience in mechanical/manufacturing drafting or related field.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with ERP/PDM systems.

Responsabilités

• Convert client-approved drawings into detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Modify and update existing drawings to meet new project requirements.
• Produce export files for non-standard plates and CNC router files.
• Generate CNC router files required for manufacturing output.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant drafting and engineering standards.
• Import BOMs from drawings into ERP to support inventory management and job tickets.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across drawing revisions.
• Organize and manage drawing files per established drafting practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify drawing requirements.

We are looking for a Draftsman to convert client-approved engineering drawings into detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. The ideal candidate for this role should be proficient in modifying and refining existing drawings, producing non-standard plate exports and CNC router files, and ensuring all output complies with relevant drafting standards. This role is critical for translating approved designs into manufacturing-ready documentation that supports accurate, efficient production.

What You’ll Do

• Convert client-approved engineering drawings into detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
• Modify and update existing, previously-developed drawings to meet new project or client requirements
• Produce separate export files for non-standard plates as part of the drawing package
• Generate CNC router files required for manufacturing output
• Ensure all manufacturing drawings comply with relevant drafting and engineering standards
• Import bills of materials from completed drawings into an ERP system to support inventory management and job ticket generation
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across drawing revisions and documentation
• Organize and manage drawing files in accordance with established drafting and documentation practices
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to clarify drawing requirements and resolve technical queries

Requirements

What You Bring

We’re looking for someone who:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Drafting, Engineering Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years experience in mechanical or manufacturing drafting, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience in structural steel, fabrication, platforms, switch rooms, frames, beams, or similar industrial structures will be highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of AS1657 and experience generating CNC router files is preferred but not required.
• Exposure to Product Data Management (PDM) systems and familiarity with AS4100 or other structural steel drafting standards will be highly regarded but are not required.
• Familiarity with ERP systems for inventory or job ticket management is an advantage, though training can be provided
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when producing or modifying technical drawings
