Job summary

Staff Domain Inc. is seeking a Draftsman/Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of new and existing products. The role involves drafting mechanical components, creating 2D drawings and 3D models, and coordinating with remote teams across time zones.

You will generate BOMs, specify materials, and prepare drawing packs for production. Remote desktop and VPN access are used to collaborate with our offshore and local teams while meeting Australian and international standards.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting mechanical components and assemblies.
• Proficiency with DraftSight 2D files and SolidWorks models.
• Ability to prepare BOMs and related documents.
• Familiarity with remote work tools (VPN, RDP).
• High accuracy and ability to deliver on time across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Detail drafting of mechanical components and assemblies (via Windows Remote Desktop session).
• Generate, update, and maintain DraftSight 2D files and SolidWorks models/assemblies/parts/drawings via Remote Desktop and VPN.
• Design mechanical systems (pumps, hydraulics, piping, structure) with remote input.
• Run testing simulations and troubleshoot designs using virtual tools and data.
• Prepare accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and MRP-related documents.
• Specify equipment and materials to meet project requirements.
• Design components and systems independently; prepare complete drawing packs for review.
