The candidate should have a technical degree in Electrical/ Renewable Energy fields and at least 3 years of hands-on PV experience, including wiring, layout understanding, and use of testing tools like multimeters.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the role

The Solar Technician is responsible for assisting in the installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and related electrical components. The position ensures that solar equipment and systems are installed and maintained safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications and applicable safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the installation of solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, cables, and other solar system components.
• Perform electrical wiring and connections according to approved plans and specifications.
• Assist in installing and securing solar panels and mounting systems.
• Ensure proper alignment, positioning, and installation of solar equipment.
• Conduct system testing after installation to ensure proper operation.
• Perform regular inspection and preventive maintenance of solar PV systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and solar system problems.
• Check solar panels, inverters, batteries, wiring, breakers, and other components for defects or damage.
• Repair or replace defective components when necessary.
• Monitor system performance and report unusual readings or equipment failures.

About you

• Graduate of Electrical Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Renewable Energy Technology, or a related technical course.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a Solar Technician, Electrical Technician, or in a related technical position.
• Proven experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Knowledge of solar PV systems and basic electrical principles.
• Able to read and understand electrical diagrams, wiring diagrams, and solar system layouts.
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools and equipment such as multimeters and clamp meters.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors and at elevated locations.
• Willing to travel to different project sites.
• Can work independently and as part of a technical team.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
