Job summary

Emapta is seeking a Software Quality Engineer (QA) to drive software testing across our educational technology platforms. Join us in Ortigas with a hybrid work setup, focusing on exploratory testing, defect tracking, and test automation to deliver reliable digital learning experiences.

You will collaborate with global teams and benefit from ongoing upskilling through Emapta Academy. The role requires a technical degree and 5+ years in software testing/QA, plus familiarity with automation tools

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• More than 5 years of professional experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Strong commitment to software quality, testing best practices, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Participate in project concept meetings to identify test requirements, quality objectives, and test coverage.
• Prepare test procedures, technical documentation, and test reports to support QA activities.
• Design and automate functional, performance, and other tests to validate product quality and reliability.
• Conduct exploratory tests on components to identify defects, performance issues, and usability concerns.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution; communicate progress to teams.

The Qualifications We Seek

Education and Professional Experience

• Technical diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• More than 5 years of professional experience in software testing and quality assurance
• Strong commitment to software quality, testing best practices, and continuous improvement

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with software developers and cross-functional teams
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced software development environment and adapt to changing project requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in test automation, software development, and scripting
• Familiarity with open-source testing tools and frameworks, including Robot Framework, Python, Selenium, Sikuli, and Appium
• Experience with continuous integration systems, such as TeamCity
• Knowledge of Git workflows, commands, and version control tools, such as SourceTree
• Experience in user interface (UI), usability, and web application testing
• Familiarity with Chrome DevTools for browser-based testing and debugging
• Experience in iOS and Android device testing
• Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems

Your Daily Tasks

• Participate in project concept meetings to identify software test requirements, quality objectives, and test coverage
• Prepare test procedures, technical documentation, and test reports to support quality assurance activities
• Design and automate functional, performance, and other software tests to validate product quality and reliability
• Conduct exploratory tests on individual software components and features to identify defects, performance issues, and usability concerns
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution to ensure product quality and functionality
• Communicate test progress, defect status, and quality assurance findings to project teams to support timely issue resolution
