JOB OVERVIEW
The SharePoint Developer is responsible for designing, developing, customizing, migrating, and supporting SharePoint environments for multiple clients. This role focuses on building scalable solutions, improving business processes, and ensuring stable SharePoint performance across diverse customer environments.
JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Design & Development
- Develop SharePoint sites, pages, lists, libraries, workflows, and forms based on customer requirements.
- Build custom SharePoint Framework (SPFx) components, Power Apps, and create responsive, user‑friendly SharePoint sites for communication, collaboration, and document management.
- Integrate SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 services (Teams, OneDrive, Azure AD, etc.).
Support & Maintenance
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for client SharePoint environments on Modern SharePoint Online and legacy on‑prem versions.
- Troubleshoot permissions issues, workflow failures, site performance problems, and configuration issues.
- Perform content migrations using Microsoft and third‑party tools.
- Monitor health, storage usage, and performance of SharePoint Online tenants.
Client Engagement
- Work directly with clients to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Deliver training or user adoption sessions for SharePoint features and best practices.
- Provide recommendations for effective site architecture and governance.
- Perform SharePoint migrations (On‑premise file server to SharePoint, SharePoint to SharePoint, and SharePoint to Teams).
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain documentation for site structures, permissions, workflows, and custom solutions.
- Ensure adherence to governance policies, security standards, and change management procedures.
- Develop templates, standards, and repeatable processes to improve consistency across client environments.
- Work closely with FMS project managers, systems engineers, and service desk teams.
- Coordinate with Microsoft 365 administrators on tenant‑level configuration and security.
- Participate in onboarding new clients or scoping new SharePoint projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
- Experience with SharePoint migrations and third‑party tools.
- Understanding of permissions models, content types, metadata, site columns, and hub site architecture.
- Ability to manage multiple client environments and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft 365 or SharePoint‑related certifications.
- Experience in a multi‑tenant MSP environment.
- Familiarity with Azure AD, conditional access, and security fundamentals.
- Knowledge of information governance, compliance, and lifecycle management.
