Job summary

SGV, the largest professional services firm in the Philippines and EY member firm, seeks an accomplished Audit leader with a CPA and 10+ years of external audit experience to join its Makati team.

You will lead audit engagements, guide teams, assess risks, and ensure compliance with PFRS and SEC/BIR/BSP regulations, while coaching junior staff and delivering insightful governance improvements for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
• 10+ years external audit experience
• 8+ years leadership experience
• CPA license in the Philippines

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expertise in Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and related regulatory requirements (SEC, BIR, BSP, IC).
• Lead audit procedures and teams on engagements with accountability for quality and timeliness.
• Identify risks within client businesses and define the appropriate audit approach.
• Arrange discussions with clients and provide authoritative advice and professionalism throughout engagements.
• Proactively build relationships with client personnel and adapt to client needs.
• Provide leadership, judgment, and direction to audit teams and mentors to junior staff.

Audit

In Audit services, we enhance transparency and accountability through thorough assessments of financial statements and internal controls. Our offerings include financial audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments tailored to meet regulatory requirements. We provide insights that identify improvement areas and ensure adherence to best practices. By aligning audit processes with business objectives, we empower clients to strengthen governance and build stakeholder trust.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrateexpertisein Philippine Financial Reporting Standards(PFRS)and in related financial reporting matter as well asexpertisein relevant SEC, BIR, BSP and IC regulations.
• Exhibit a thorough knowledge of current audit techniques and apply them in carrying out complex audit procedures while leading teams or parts of teams on engagements.
• Identifyareaof risk within client’s businesses and define the appropriate audit approach.
• Arrange discussions with clients and provide authoritative advice and professionalism throughout client engagements.
• Proactively buildrelationshipwith client personnel,demonstrateflexibility and resourcefulness in handling client’s problems.
• Provide the necessary leadership,judgement,and administrative direction to his/her audit team.
• Create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and support them in their personal and professional development.

Competency Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy

Relevant Experience: At least 10 years of work experience in external audit and at least 8 years of experience in a leadership role

Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in the Philippines
