Job summary

J&T Cargo in Manila is seeking a Settlement Clerk to manage the daily settlement of logistics and transportation services, including calculating freight, loading/unloading, warehousing, and delivery fees. The role requires verifying data against orders and waybills and performing reconciliations with customers, carriers, and drivers.

The successful candidate will prepare customer and supplier statements, maintain accurate records in the company system, and support month-end closing and reporting

Responsibilities

• Settle daily logistics and transportation charges, including freight, loading/unloading, warehousing, and delivery fees.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of settlement data against orders, waybills, PODs and other documents.
• Conduct account reconciliation with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal departments; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare customer and supplier statements and settlement documents per procedures; obtain confirmations/approvals.
• Review and summarize logistics expenses; maintain data in company system for transaction vs accounting consistency.
• Assist Finance with AR/AP reconciliation, data analysis and reporting.
• Investigate abnormal charges, duplicate billing, missing charges, and coordinate resolutions.
• Organize and file settlement documents to ensure completeness and traceability.
• Assist with month-end closing, expense reconciliation, statistics, and related reports.
• Perform other settlement, accounting, and finance duties as assigned.

• Responsible for the daily settlement of logistics and transportation services, including the calculation of freight, loading and unloading fees, warehousing fees, delivery charges, and other related costs.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of settlement data based on transportation orders, waybills, proof of delivery, statements, and other relevant business documents.
• Conduct account reconciliation with customers, carriers, drivers, and relevant internal departments, and promptly resolve any discrepancies identified during the reconciliation process.
• Prepare customer and supplier statements and settlement documents in accordance with company settlement procedures, and follow up on the confirmation and approval/signature process.
• Review, enter, and summarize logistics expenses, and maintain relevant data in the company system to ensure consistency between actual transactions and accounting records.
• Assist the Finance Department with accounts receivable and accounts payable reconciliation, as well as related data analysis and reporting.
• Investigate abnormal charges, duplicate billing, missing charges, and other settlement discrepancies, and promptly report and coordinate the resolution of such issues.
• Regularly organize, file, and maintain settlement documents and related business records to ensure that all documentation is complete, clear, and traceable.
• Assist the Finance Department with month-end closing, expense reconciliation, statistics, and preparation of relevant reports.
• Perform other settlement, accounting, and finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
