Job summary

Broadridge is seeking a Senior UNIX Engineer to define and implement our UNIX/Linux strategy across on-prem, IBM Cloud and public cloud environments. You’ll design and operate the infrastructure, automate tasks, and build CI/CD pipelines while collaborating with partners and global teams.

You will contribute to reliability and performance analytics, develop OS images, and drive standard operating procedures. Strong scripting and virtualization experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a UNIX/Linux engineering role with hands-on design and operations.
• Ability to write clear SOPs, documentation, and roadmaps.
• 2+ years of AWS/Azure (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC) experience.
• Experience with Linux, AIX and Solaris environments and VMware virtualization.
• Strong scripting skills across Bash, Python, Ruby or Go.
• Effective communication with engineers, vendors, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and administer UNIX/Linux infrastructure.
• Contribute to UNIX/Linux strategy and infrastructure roadmap.
• Prepare project plans with estimates and capacity planning input.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers; supervise partners.
• Oversee operations, establish SOPs and escalation processes.
• Serve as last line of defense for high-severity incidents.
• Build OS images, patch bundles, scripts, and automation.
• Build CI/CD pipelines and write code in scripting languages.
• Plan for incidents and help set standards/policies; participate in daily operations as needed.
