Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Senior Trademark Executive to provide expert consultancy on IP rights, including trademarks, design, and copyright. You will prepare filings, manage registrations, and handle complex disputes.

You will lead client communications, supervise junior staff, deliver knowledge-sharing sessions, and drive improvements in department performance. Fluency in English and sound analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law with a minimum of Second-Class Honors, Upper Division (2.1).
• At least 4 years of experience in the Intellectual Property field.
• Proven expertise in conducting trademark searches and advising on trademark, design, and copyright law.
• Experience in filing trademarks, design, and copyright applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert IP consultancy on trademarks, design rights, copyright, and industrial design rights.
• Prepare and manage filings for trademark and design registrations.
• Handle complex IP disputes, investigations, negotiations, and oppositions.
• Direct client communication as primary contact for large-scale clients and manage projects.
• Train and supervise junior executives and paralegals to ensure efficiency.
• Deliver seminars, webinars, and write articles on IP topics and stay updated on trends.
• Ensure timely responses to office actions and client inquiries, maintaining high-quality deliverables.
• Identify areas for departmental improvement and propose innovative solutions.

• Provide expert consultancy services on IP rights, including trademarks, trade secrets, copyright, and industrial design rights.
• Guide clients through all aspects of their IP matters.

Trademark & Design Prosecution

• Prepare and manage documentation for trademark and design registrations.
• Draft submissions and arguments for office actions and oppositions.

Contentious Matters & Dispute Resolution

• Handle complex IP disputes, investigations, negotiations, and oppositions.
• Draft and review agreements and submissions for hearings and contentious cases.

Client Communication & Project Management

• Act as the primary contact for large-scale and special clients.
• Lead and manage departmental projects, ensuring objectives are met with high-quality standards.

Training & Supervision

• Train and supervise junior executives and paralegals to ensure efficiency.
• Review drafts prepared by junior staff and develop systems to enhance productivity.

Thought Leadership & Knowledge Sharing

• Deliver seminars, webinars, and write articles on IP-related topics.
• Stay updated on trends, legislative rulings, and procedural changes in IP administration.

Quality Control & Deadline Management

• Ensure timely responses to office actions and client inquiries.

Qualifications

Academic Background
