Sovos in Mexico City is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize the enterprise systems and infrastructure powering our global tax compliance platform. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related Information Technology field or equivalent experience.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to document technical work clearly.
• Multiple years of hands-on systems engineering experience with server design, virtualization, storage, and backup solutions.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in production environments, including SaaS platforms and multi-tier architectures.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (routing, firewalling, ACLs, NSX).
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues with strong analytical and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with attention to priorities and details.
• Comfort with AI-assisted workflows and emerging tools to boost productivity and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve complex server/infrastructure issues to ensure platform stability.
• Design and support architectures including virtualization, storage, networking, and backup solutions.
• Support automation and deployment using Terraform, Puppet, Python, Jenkins, and Automox; leverage AI tools.
• Collaborate with architecture, engineering, product, database, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Create and maintain technical and operational documentation (low-level designs, HA diagrams, DR plans).
• Participate in design reviews, planning, and change management using Jira Service Management.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and standards.
