Job summary

BG&E in Manila, Philippines is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis of buildings for international markets. You will deliver reinforced concrete and structural steel designs, perform analyses with ETABS and related software, and guide teams from concept through construction documents.

The role emphasizes collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, wind/seismic design, and post-tensioned concrete systems, with mentoring responsibility for junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university.
• PRC Civil Engineer License.
• 5 to 10 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience in reinforced concrete and/or structural steel building design.
• Experience working on multi-storey building projects.
• Experience undertaking structural analysis and design using industry-standard software.
• Proficiency in ETABS (minimum 3 years).
• Proficiency in at least one of: SAFE (min 3y), RAPT (min 1y), RAM Concept (min 1y).
• Understanding of structural load paths and lateral stability systems.
• Ability to prepare engineering calculations and technical reports.
• Ability to prepare and coordinate structural design documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Design reinforced concrete and structural steel building structures.
• Perform structural analysis and modelling using industry-standard software.
• Undertake lateral stability analysis and design for wind and seismic loading.
• Design reinforced and post-tensioned concrete floor systems.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and structural design documentation.
• Coordinate with architects, drafters, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support project delivery from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation.
• Contribute to practical, efficient, and buildable engineering solutions.
• Mentor and support junior engineers where appropriate.
