Job summary

ScalableOS is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, maintain controls, and mentor the accounting team. The role will oversee a team of up to three Staff Accountants and handle recurring accounting processes from a remote setting.

Key responsibilities include journal entries, invoicing, revenue recognition for SaaS, balance sheets, and monthly close. The position requires 5+ years of experience and strong Excel skills, with overlap to US ET hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting or finance experience.
• Strong GAAP and month-end close knowledge.
• Experience mentoring staff or managing employees.
• SaaS/revenue recognition experience preferred.
• Sage Intacct experience preferred; Salesforce experience is a plus.
• Overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

Responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries per GAAP.
• Prepare customer invoices for weekly/monthly billing.
• Manage client contracts and initiate billing.
• Mentor staff accountants and review work.
• Oversee finance queues for timely resolutions.
• Reconcile data across databases and spreadsheets.
• Perform revenue recognition for various invoice types.
• Support monthly/year-end close and financial reporting.
• Assist with process improvements and automation.
• Other duties as assigned.
