Job summary

Canonical is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for a globally remote role. You will build and operate cloud infrastructure across OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage, using Python and IaC to automate operations from bare metal to containers and apps.

You will support DevSecOps, drive upgrades, and ensure services remain reliable and secure. Candidates should have a software engineering degree, strong Python skills, and Linux networking/storage experience, with

Qualifications

Degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
Strong Python development skills and hands-on operational experience.
Linux experience, including familiarity with networking and storage.
You can travel internationally twice a year for company gatherings lasting up to two weeks.

Responsibilities

Build and operate cloud infrastructure across OpenStack, Kubernetes and software-defined storage.
Use Python and infrastructure-as-code to automate operations from physical hardware through containers and applications.
Support DevSecOps for services running on the infrastructure, including customer-facing critical systems.
Drive upgrades so customer environments stay current with newer infrastructure solutions.
