Job summary

Alsons/AWS Information Systems Inc. in Cebu City is seeking an experienced SRE to join our Linux-focused team of more than a dozen experts.

The role involves supporting RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu environments, Docker-based infrastructure, and identity management tools, with on-call flexibility for holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical fields
• Business English at business level
• Business level Japanese is nice to have
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Linux systems
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code concepts
• Experience with Git, Ansible, and Puppet or similar
• Ability to learn to support Unix-like systems
• Knowledge of Linux network internals
• Experience with Identity Management (FreeIPA, Active Directory)
• Willingness for 24x7 support including holidays/weekends/night on-site or remote
• Scripting with Bash, Python or Ruby
• Experience with Docker and container infrastructures
• OpenStack or private cloud experience is a plus

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related technical fields
• Business level English and Business Level Japanese is nice to have
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Linux systems
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code concepts
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
• Experience and familiarity with Git, Ansible, and Puppet, or similar orchestration and version control tools.
• Competency or ability to quickly learn to support any of the Unix-like (Linux) systems
• Good foundation and knowledge of Linux Network Internals
• Experience working on Identity Management System (FreeIPA, Active Directory, etc.)
• Flexible with occasional 24x7 support including holiday/weekends/night onsite or remote support if required
• Experience with Bash, Python, or Ruby scripting or any other programming languages
• Have a desire to document all the things so you don't need to learn the same thing twice
• Experience container infrastructures (Eg. Docker)
• Operating OpenStack or any similar Private Cloud experiences is nice to have
