Job summary

iQor is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to provide senior technical direction across enterprise infrastructure. You will lead design, engineering reviews, and oversee implementations for compute, storage, virtualization, cloud, and related platforms.

You will mentor team members, collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and drive incident response and DR exercises in a hybrid environment. A strong ITIL background and extensive infrastructure experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of professional IT experience in infrastructure engineering, operations, architecture, or solutions engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure domains such as Windows, Linux, storage, network, virtualization, cloud, database, or related platforms.
• Experience providing technical oversight to suppliers, vendors, or cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, release, DR, and service management practices.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, implementation plans, architecture requirements, and operational readiness plans.
• Ability to analyze SLA/KPI reporting, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence technical direction and communicate with leadership during high-priority incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, engineering review, and implementation oversight for infrastructure areas (compute, storage, virtualization, cloud, OS, backup).
• Provide technical direction to suppliers and internal teams to ensure alignment with designs and standards.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents, outages, and remediation activities across hybrid environments.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify root cause and ensure sustainable remediation.
• Review supplier architectures, plans, and recovery/operational support models.
• Evaluate technology options and prepare recommendations for management review.
• Monitor supplier performance against SLA/KPI and plan remediation when needed.
• Participate in major incident calls, DR exercises, and post-incident analysis.
• Support lifecycle planning, capacity management, roadmaps, and cloud/hybrid initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and provide guidance to project teams and operations partners.
• Collaborate across IT functions (architecture, security, networking, apps, cloud, ops).
• Take part in on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned.

The Senior Solutions Engineer provides senior-level technical direction, oversight, and solution guidance across enterprise infrastructure services. This role partners with internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and third-party suppliers to ensure technical solutions are reliable, secure, scalable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards. The Senior Solutions Engineer serves as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex technology issues, supplier delivery concerns, infrastructure design decisions, and major incident response.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical solution design, engineering review, and implementation oversight for assigned infrastructure technology areas, including compute, storage, virtualization, cloud, operating systems, backup, and related enterprise platforms.
• Provide technical direction to suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions are implemented according to approved designs, architecture standards, operational requirements, and security expectations.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, performance issues, outages, and problem remediation activities across hybrid infrastructure environments.
• Partner with suppliers to identify root cause, validate corrective actions, and ensure sustainable remediation for recurring issues.
• Review and provide input on supplier technical architecture designs, implementation plans, change plans, recovery plans, and operational support models.
• Evaluate technology options, vendor products, and platform capabilities; prepare recommendations and proposals for management review.
• Monitor supplier performance against SLA and KPI commitments and recommend remediation plans when performance gaps are identified.
• Participate in P1/P2/P3 troubleshooting calls, major incident reviews, disaster recovery exercises, and post-incident analysis.
• Support infrastructure lifecycle planning, capacity management, technical roadmaps, modernization efforts, and cloud/hybrid integration initiatives.
• Mentor Solutions Engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams and operational support partners.
• Collaborate across IT functions, including architecture, security, networking, application, cloud, operations, and business relationship teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of professional IT experience, including significant experience in infrastructure engineering, operations, architecture, or solutions engineering.
• Advanced knowledge of one or more infrastructure technology domains such as Windows, Linux, storage, network, virtualization, cloud, database, web, or related enterprise platforms.
• Experience providing technical oversight to suppliers, vendors, managed service providers, or cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong understanding of ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, release, disaster recovery, and service management practices.
• Experience reviewing technical designs, implementation plans, architecture requirements, and operational readiness plans.
• Ability to analyze SLA/KPI reporting, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence technical direction, communicate with leadership, and operate effectively during high-priority incidents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Azure, VMware, enterprise SAN/NAS storage, Cisco UCS, backup and recovery platforms, or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with automation or scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Azure CLI, Terraform, or REST APIs.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, capacity planning, performance management, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL, Azure, VMware, Cisco, storage platform certifications, TOGAF, PMP, or equivalent are a plus.
