Job summary

CRS Philippines seeks a Senior Social Safeguards Officer to lead social safeguards across community-based conservation and carbon finance initiatives. You will ensure FPIC compliance, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, and inclusive participation in line with IPRA and international standards.

You will work with Indigenous communities, NCIP, and partners to integrate safeguards through baselining, feasibility, design, and pre-implementation phases, with travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related field; master's an advantage.
• Minimum five years demonstrated FPIC and Indigenous Peoples engagement experience.
• Experience with IPRA and Indigenous rights compliance preferred.
• Experience with community-based conservation and carbon/forest projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, monitor, and improve social safeguard systems.
• Ensure compliance with IPRA, FPIC, and international standards.
• Serve as focal point for social safeguards among partners and communities.
• Collaborate with NCIP, government agencies, and civil society; travel to project sites.
