Job summary

CRS Philippines seeks a Senior Social Safeguards Officer to design, implement, monitor, and improve social safeguard systems for community-based conservation and carbon finance initiatives. The role ensures IP rights compliance, FPIC processes, and inclusive governance.

The officer will collaborate with Indigenous communities, NCIP, DENR, and local governments to integrate safeguards through baselining, feasibility, and design, promoting transparency and fair benefit sharing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum five years of experience in FPIC, indigenous peoples engagement, stakeholder engagement, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPIC processes and ensure IPRA and NCIP compliance.
• Oversee social safeguards frameworks and gender inclusion.
• Engage Indigenous communities and other stakeholders for meaningful participation.
• Lead social baselines, vulnerability assessments, and benefit-sharing planning.
• Develop and monitor grievance mechanisms and safeguards documentation.
