Job summary

Amtech is scaling its Platform Engineering group in India as our products move to a fully AWS-hosted, multi-tenant SaaS model. You will own reliability for major production domains, design observability and automation frameworks, and act as incident commander for complex cross-service incidents.

You will mentor junior engineers, set patterns, review designs, and stay hands-on to raise the bar for the India SRE pod. Collaboration with global teams and leadership is central to this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4-6 years of hands-on SRE, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience with production services at scale.
• Deep AWS knowledge (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda) in multi-account environments.
• Strong Terraform skills and fluency with GitHub Actions or equivalent CI/CD.
• Proven software engineering ability in Python or similar for automation.
• Experience running SLO-driven operations and incident command.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement monitoring, alerting, and reliability frameworks on an Open Telemetry-based stack integrated with PagerDuty.
• Define and defend SLIs/SLOs and drive engineering priorities from them.
• Engineer self-healing, autoscaling, and capacity management for production systems.
• Lead RCAs for high-severity incidents and ensure permanent fixes.
• Design reusable Terraform modules and golden paths across multi-account AWS.
• Build and harden CI/CD pipelines including progressive delivery and automated rollback.
• Operate containerized and serverless workloads (ECS/EKS/Lambda) and RDS at scale.
• Own MTTR/MTTD improvements with measurable targets.
• Mentor SRE I/II engineers and collaborate with product and Cloud-track peers.
