Job summary

Sur Global is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design and build scalable testing systems and tooling for a high-scale technology platform. You will write production-quality code and validate performance, reliability, and scalability across globally served applications.

The role emphasizes engineering solutions over traditional QA, with responsibilities spanning load testing, CI/CD integration, and infrastructure as code using Terraform and Pulumi on cloud platforms

Qualifications

• Strong professional software engineering experience with the ability to independently design, build, and maintain software systems.
• Proficient coding in TypeScript and Python, and experience with automation testing.
• Experience building automated testing systems, testing infrastructure, or related tooling.
• Hands-on experience with load, performance, stress, and synthetic testing at scale.
• Familiarity with cloud-hosted platforms (AWS/Google Cloud/Cloudflare) and IaC tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable testing systems, platforms, and infrastructure that replicate real-world production conditions.
• Develop software and tooling to test application performance, reliability, scalability, and infrastructure behavior at high traffic volumes.
• Build and maintain load, performance, stress, and synthetic testing capabilities for applications serving millions of users globally.
• Create testing environments and processes that provide confidence that new code and infrastructure will scale in production.
• Write high-quality code using TypeScript or Python to build testing tools and automation.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows or services.
