Job summary

SearchApi is seeking a senior Ruby on Rails engineer to become the technical backbone of our product. You’ll own the hardest PRs, raise the bar for the codebase, and ship production code across every part of the product.

This is a hands-on, high-trust role for someone who can collaborate directly with the CEO/CTO and help shape enterprise features, billing, and performance optimizations while working remotely.

Qualifications

• Extensive Ruby on Rails production experience.
• Proven ability to ship complex features end-to-end.
• Stripe billing and subscriptions experience.
• Strong code review and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the hardest PRs and refactors; high judgment required.
• Review PRs and mentor other engineers.
• Build enterprise features (SAML, SCIM, audit logs, permissions).
• Work on billing and payments with Stripe integrations.
• Create and iterate on product features (API, dashboard, developer experience).
• Develop in-house algorithms and optimize performance.
• Ship frontend with TailwindUI and maintain security standards.
