Job summary

Adaca is seeking a Senior Ruby on Rails Full Stack Engineer to develop full stack web applications aimed at delivering improved healthcare outcomes. You will leverage Ruby on Rails and both front- and back-end frameworks to drive the next iteration of our solutions.

The role requires strong OO programming, test-driven development, and experience mentoring others in design, implementation and testing. Remote work is allowed under an independent contractor arrangement, with opportunities to work

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience with Ruby on Rails, plus libraries like RSpec, Resque, and Devise.
Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3; experience with AngularJS is a plus.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and good coding practices.
Experience in senior developer roles with design, implementation, and testing contributions.
Experience with test-driven development, preferably BDD, and frameworks like Cucumber.
Experience upgrading Rails projects from older Rails and Ruby versions.
Understanding of JRuby and typical Rails production deployment scenarios.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby on Rails code.
Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic, (AngularJS expertise a bonus).
Identify performance bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle and best practices.
