Job summary

LawnStarter is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to strengthen how we ship software across our marketplace platform. You will own automated testing across web and mobile products, integrate quality checks into the development process with engineering pods, and lead root-cause investigations when issues arise.

You will also bolster CI/CD testing infrastructure and coach engineers on better testing practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on QA/QE experience, including building and maintaining automated test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
• Experience testing web and mobile applications in production environments
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated testing fits into them
• Experience working in a marketplace, two-sided platform, or similarly fast-moving startup environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, cross-functional collaboration across engineering, product and support
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve automated testing coverage across our web and mobile products
• Work directly with engineering pods to bake quality checks into the development process
• Lead root-cause investigations when production issues surface, coordinating across teams
• Strengthen our CI/CD pipeline's testing infrastructure
• Coach engineers on writing better tests and edge-case thinking
