About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer based in the Philippines to lead our automated testing initiatives. In this role, you will architect, build, and scale a modern test automation framework from scratch using Playwright and TypeScript, while guiding and mentoring a dedicated team of QA engineers. This is a full-time, 100% remote position operating strictly on Eastern Standard Time (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST), corresponding to night shift hours in Philippine Time (PHT).

Key responsibilities

• Framework Architecture: Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and scaling of automated testing frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.

• Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide QA team members, driving high standards through code reviews, test architecture planning, and automation best practices.

• CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly embed automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) for continuous feedback.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with US-based developers, product managers, and DevOps teams during EST business hours to align on testing strategies.

• Test Maintenance & Optimization: Maintain high test coverage, eliminate flakiness, and run root-cause analyses on complex bug reports.

About you

• 5+ years of software quality assurance experience, with a track record of leading a team in building test automation solutions.

• Deep hands-on proficiency with Playwright and TypeScript.

• Must be fully comfortable working 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (Night Shift / Graveyard Shift in the Philippines).

• Practical knowledge of CI/CD integration, version control (Git), and containerized testing environments.

• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) tailored for a collaborative remote setup.

• Experience in API automation testing (REST/GraphQL) and load/performance testing.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
