Job summary

GECO Asia Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Mid-Level Automation QA Engineer to develop and maintain automated test solutions, ensuring high-quality software products.

You will design test scripts, improve frameworks, and collaborate with Development and QA teams to raise coverage and reliability. A hybrid setup with night shifts and remote work is available, with training provided for Playwright exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years of professional Automation Testing and 1 year of Manual Testing.
• Strong hands-on Selenium WebDriver with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Training or exposure to Playwright is required; hands-on is a plus.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with BDD, DDT, or KDT frameworks.
• Knowledge of Postman or SoapUI for API testing.
• Familiarity with Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB databases.
• Experience creating test strategies and master test plans; leading QA initiatives.
• ISTQB certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and other automation tools.
• Improve and optimize existing automation frameworks for web, mobile, and desktop applications.
• Work closely with Development and QA teams to increase test coverage and satisfaction of quality goals.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test reports, and defect documentation.
• Identify, document, track, and verify defects through resolution.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior QA team members.

Mid-Level Automation QA Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-Level Automation QA Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in test automation, a solid understanding of QA processes, and the ability to contribute to building and improving automation solutions.

Experience with Playwright is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided for candidates with the right automation background. In this role, you will design and maintain automated test solutions, execute testing strategies, and help ensure the delivery of reliable, high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and other automation tools.

• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.

• Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB.

• Experience creating test strategies, master test plans, and supporting QA initiatives or leading small QA teams.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

• Willingness to work in a hybrid setup with flexible schedules and occasional travel as needed.

• ISTQB Certification is a plus.

Additional / Preferred Skills

• Candidates with Playwright training or exposure are welcome, even without prior commercial experience, provided they are willing to learn.

• Hands‑on experience with Playwright is highly desirable.

• At least 6 months of experience in AI‑related implementation, such as AI‑assisted testing, automation improvements, or QA productivity tools.
