Optum is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex healthcare implementation projects across multiple business functions. You will oversee end-to-end delivery, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

This role requires strong leadership, project planning expertise, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced environment while driving projects to completion within scope, timeline, and budget.

Qualifications

• PMO experience with governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and project delivery oversight.
• Hands-on end-to-end project management from initiation through completion.
• Experience creating SOW, BRD, project plans, governance docs.
• Ability to define, track, and report on project metrics and KPIs.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Accountability and attention to detail in managing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to define goals and scope.

In this role, you will oversee end-to-end project delivery, collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

This position requires strong leadership, project planning expertise, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, matrixed environment while driving projects to completion within scope, timeline, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to define, align, and communicate project goals, scope, and objectives.

• Identify project timelines, resource requirements, task dependencies, and implementation plans.

• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation plans.

• Lead project execution using established project management methodologies and tools.

• Manage cross-functional teams, including Real Estate, Training, Technology, Telecommunications, Human Capital, and other business partners.

• Create and maintain project documentation, including project charters, work orders, project plans, issue logs, lessons learned, risk assessments, and project closure documents.

• Build and lead high-performing project teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.

• Monitor project progress, identify risks, resolve issues, and escalate concerns as needed.

• Provide regular project updates, status reports, and executive-level communications.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

• Drive continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and lessons learned across project implementations.

• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Solid PMO experience with exposure to project governance, stakeholder management, risk management, and project delivery oversight.

• Extensive hands-on experience in end-to-end project management, from project initiation through implementation and completion.

• Strong experience in creating and managing project documentation, including:

  • Statements of Work (SOW)

  • Business Requirements Documents (BRD)

  • Project plans and governance documentation

• Demonstrated ability to define, track, and report on project metrics, KPIs, and success measures.

• Proven capability in driving project execution, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and business objectives are achieved.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to proactively identify risks and implement solutions.

• Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and leadership levels.

• High level of accountability, ownership, and attention to detail in managing project outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background or experience in Healthcare and/or IT environments is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams is highly desirable.
