Job summary

KMC Solutions is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee revenue recognition, month-end close, and financial reporting for project-based and SaaS revenue. You will lead a small team, apply ASC 606 and US GAAP, and drive improvements in revenue processes across ERP and billing systems.

The role requires 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience with project-based revenue, strong knowledge of NetSuite, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, with project-based revenue exposure.
• Experience with ASC 606 and US GAAP in practice.
• Proficiency in NetSuite or similar project billing software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee revenue recognition and COS accruals per policy and ASC 606.
• Prepare and post journal entries for accrued revenue, deferred revenue, WIP, and COS accruals.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue, AR, and related balance sheet accounts.
• Support monthly financial reports, including revenue and margin analysis.
• Assist in close processes and provide variance explanations to management.
• Oversee end-to-end billing, milestone and progress billings, and invoicing.
• Monitor AR aging and drive cash flow improvements.
• Lead and develop a small team of project accountants.
• Identify automation opportunities in revenue close across ERP and billing systems.

About the role

KMC Solutions is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee revenue recognition, month-end close, and financial reporting across project-based and SaaS/software revenue. This role involves applying ASC 606 and US GAAP, managing project accounting activities, improving revenue processes, and leading a small team of project accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Lead revenue recognition and cost of sales (COS) accrual processes in accordance with company policy and ASC 606
• Prepare and post journal entries for accrued revenue, deferred revenue, WIP, and COS accruals
• Perform monthly reconciliations of revenue, AR, and related balance sheet accounts
• Support preparation of monthly financial reports, including revenue and margin analysis
• Assist in financial statement close processes and provide variance explanations to management
• Oversee end-to-end billing process, including milestone and progress billings
• Manage customer invoicing, lien waivers, and supporting documentation
• Monitor AR aging and lead collection efforts to improve cash flow
• Manage and develop a small team of project accountants
• Identify and drive automation opportunities in the revenue close process across ERP and billing systems

About you

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with direct exposure to project-based revenue or contract accounting
• Hands-on experience with construction/EPC or project-based revenue accounting (percentage-of-completion, milestone billing, change orders)
• Hands-on experience with SaaS or software revenue accounting (subscription models, usage-based billing, multi-element arrangements)
• Proven ability to manage Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, contract variations, and unpriced change orders
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, with demonstrated experience applying both in practice
• Proficiency with NetSuite or specialized project billing software
• Excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Comfort operating in a fast-growing, still-scaling environment
