Job summary

Aurecon Energy is seeking an experienced structural engineer to join the SAVI team, supporting the Power Transmission and Distribution portfolio on projects worldwide. You will lead projects, perform hands-on design and provide construction support, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with industry codes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional experience in structural design of concrete and steel structures, specifically in Transmission Lines
• Solid experience in Transmission Tower and Substation Equipment structure design and analysis
• PLS Software (PLS Tower, PLS Pole)
• Project lead experience
• Must have experience in designing tower and pole foundations, e.g. pad footings, bored piles, etc.
• Knowledge of transmission line materials (conductor, OPGW, insulators, hardware accessories and fittings)
• Good to have: PLS CADD software experience is preferable, Substations experience is an advantage, ANZ project background, Spacegass software

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage smaller transmission projects from concept to construction support.
• Perform structural design using PLS Tower/Pole, ensuring code-compliant towers and poles.
• Utilize SpaceGass to enhance analysis where applicable.
• Apply structural engineering principles for safe, efficient transmission infrastructure.
• Provide design support during construction and resolve field issues onsite.
• Collaborate with electrical and other teams to integrate designs.
• Prepare engineering documentation and design calculations per standards.
• Mentor junior engineers in software use and design practices.
• Participate in technical reviews and improve design processes.
• Communicate with project stakeholders as needed.
