Job summary

CloudLinux is seeking a Platform Engineer for the PaaS team, responsible for owning a set of platform services, keeping them reliable, and reducing manual work through automation and self-service. You’ll split time across platform engineering, incident response, and helping engineers leverage what we run.

You will work with the observability platform and CI runner fleet, implement changes as code, and ensure services are well-documented and recoverable.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering with a production service
• Linux systems administration and debugging on bare metal and virtual machines
• Infrastructure as code with Ansible and Terraform or OpenTofu
• GitLab administration and GitLab CI in production
• Experience with Prometheus and Grafana, alert rules and dashboards
• Strong written technical communication for engineers outside the team
• Advanced use of AI assistants for task planning and automation
• English - upper-intermediate or higher

Responsibilities

• Run the observability platform: keep it healthy, onboard teams, monitor cost and capacity, manage alerts
• Run GitLab and the CI runner fleet: upgrades, capacity, access, backups
• Keep other services healthy with monitoring and runbooks
• Deploy new services as needed: design, code, monitor, document
• Address developers' requests: onboarding, pipelines, dashboards; convert recurring tasks to self-service
• Handle incidents: diagnose, mitigate impact, root-cause analysis, post-mortems
• Ship everything as code: reviews, runbooks, maintenance notices
• Collaborate with AI agents: delegate tasks, review output, document learnings
