Job summary

OpsWerks is hiring a Senior Data Platform Reliability Engineer to operate, maintain, and continuously improve large-scale data platforms on Kubernetes across on-premises and cloud environments (AWS/GCP). You will collaborate with platform, infrastructure, and data teams to ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and security, while supporting modern data and AI workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in ETL/ELT, data engineering, or data platform operations.
• 3+ years supporting production data platforms with Spark, Airflow, and Jupyter.
• Strong Python, Java, and SQL skills and hands-on Kubernetes admin experience.
• Experience with AWS EKS and/or Google GKE; Linux and distributed systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and improve large-scale data platforms on Kubernetes (On-Prem, AWS EKS, GCP GKE).
• Deploy releases, updates, and changes via GitOps/DevOps practices.
• Monitor health, performance, and reliability using observability tools.
• Lead incident management, RCA, and 24/7 rotations; mentor junior engineers.
