We are seeking 2 highly capable and proactive Senior Paraplanner to support 2 high-performing Australian financial advice teams.
This is not a traditional paraplanning role focused solely on completing adviser instructions. We are looking for someone who can think critically, undertake independent research, identify opportunities and risks, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and contribute to strategy development. Comfortable with communicating directly with advisers with the flexibility in adapting changes and adding value to the advice being prepared.
The successful candidate will work across a broad range of Australian wealth management, superannuation, insurance strategies, retirement planning, investment, SMSF, trust and company structures, supporting multiple advisers and complex client situations.
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
Your Responsibilities
Strategy Research & Technical Analysis
- Research Australian superannuation, investment, tax and retirement planning strategies.
- Research and compare Insurance Products and insurance related strategies
- Review client circumstances and identify potential advice opportunities.
- Create and consider alternative strategies rather than simply following instructions.
- Assist advisers in developing appropriate recommendations.
- Research legislation, product rules and technical matters.
- Prepare technical strategy summaries and recommendations.
- Can analyse Adviser Meeting File Notes and extract important information for potential strategies and recommendations.
WealthSolver & Platform Analysis
- Prepare WealthSolver comparisons for all entities including SMSF, Trusts and Companies
- Undertake platform research and comparisons including BT Panorama, HUB24, Netwealth, CFS Edge, FirstChoice and other relevant super and investment platforms
- Prepare rationale for platform recommendations and discounted alternatives.
Risk Researcher Analysis
- Prepare Risk Researcher for insurance product providers.
- Prepare Insurance Pre-assessments and Insurance product quotes for TAL, OnePath/Zurich, Acenda, NEOS, ClearView and AIA
Projections & Modelling
- Prepare and review Xtools+/Xplan projections.
- Build and analyse lifetime cashflow projections.
- Model superannuation, pension and investment strategies.
- Review modelling outputs and identify inconsistencies or errors.
- Assist advisers in interpreting results and strategy implications.
- Prepare projections for all entities including SMSF, Trusts and Companies
- Contact product providers directly.
- Liaise with platform service teams.
- Investigate product queries and technical issues.
- Obtain product information and confirmation of legislative or platform functionality.
- Navigate adviser portals including BT Panorama, HUB24, Netwealth, CFS Edge, TAL, OnePath/Zurich, AIA etc
Advice Documentation
- Draft and review:
- Statements of Advice (SOAs)
- Records of Advice (ROAs)
- Review Preparation Documents
- Investment Recommendations
- Ensure documentation is technically accurate and client focused.
- Support multiple advisers concurrently.
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Provide higher-level technical support and problem solving.
- Review feedback and implement changes quickly.
- Assist with process improvement opportunities.
To apply for this role you MUST possess ALL of the following experience:
- You are RG146 qualified
- You have 3+ years' experience as an Australian financial services paraplanner
- You have 3+ years' experience using Xplan software including WS, RR and Xtools+
