Job summary

Encora is seeking a Backend Developer (Node.js) in Manila for a contract, hybrid role. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of IT experience, with 5+ years preferred, and hands-on Node.js expertise.

Responsibilities include building scalable APIs, participating in code reviews and deployments, and collaborating with frontend, SRE, and architecture teams to deliver secure, maintainable software. Experience in fintech/Invest domain is a plus with AWS and CI/CD familiarity.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of IT industry experience.
• Investments/fintech domain experience in banking or fintech context.
• Hands-on with TDD, OOP, FP and software design patterns.
• Familiar with AWS / Cloud environments.
• Strong involvement with CI/CD adoption and tooling.
• 4+ years of Node.js tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, execution, deployment, monitoring and maintaining software engineering applications.
• Active participation in code reviews and production deployments.
• Translate project requirements into technical design.
• Collaborate with frontend and other backend teams to meet platform needs.
• Work with SRE teams to ensure scalability and maintainability.
• Build reusable APIs for internal and external use.
• Documentation of standard practices across the platform.
• Team building and recruitment support.
