Job summary

New Era Technology is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a global Cisco-to-Fortinet/Juniper migration. You will configure Fortinet firewalls, Juniper Mist switches, and wireless APs, while collaborating with senior engineers globally.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of enterprise networking experience, strong troubleshooting, and documentation skills. Remote with onsite in Manila/Cebu, EST hours, and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of hands-on wired and wireless network engineering.
• Experience supporting enterprise network environments and migrations.
• Certifications such as Fortinet NSE, JNCIA, CWNA, or Juniper Mist are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and executing global migration from Cisco to Fortinet and Juniper.
• Configure, deploy, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls, Juniper Mist switches, and wireless APs.
• Provide administration for Juniper Mist wireless solutions and controllers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers for seamless migrations.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations and procedures.
• Provide Tier 1 and 2 support during migration and after go-live.
• Ensure security governance and operational standards during the migration.
• Support ongoing network optimization and performance improvements.

What is the role

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Manila/Cebu.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Network Engineer with extensive years of experience to support a global hardware conversion project from Cisco to Fortinet and Juniper. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact initiative within a dynamic enterprise environment.

The following include but may not be limited to the responsibilities of the Core Network Engineer:

• Assist in the planning and execution of a global migration from Cisco to Fortinet and Juniper switching infrastructure.
• Support the configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of Fortinet firewalls, Juniper Mist switches, and wireless access points.
• Provide administration and support for Juniper Mist wireless solutions and controllers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure seamless transitions across global sites.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for network-related issues during and after the migration.
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and operational standards throughout the migration project.
• Support ongoing network optimization and performance improvements.

Work Set-up / Work Schedule

• Remote (with some occasional onsite as needed)
• EST Hours

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate is passionate about networking technologies and enjoys working in a collaborative, project-driven environment. You will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure.

A successful candidate for the role needs to have:

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in wired and wireless network engineering.
• Working knowledge of Juniper Mist switching, wireless solutions, and associated management tools.
• Working knowledge of Fortinet firewalls and security technologies.
• Experience supporting enterprise network environments.
• Basic experience with Cisco networking technologies (IOS/NX-OS).
• Basic experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers.
• Basic experience with Cisco DNA Center (DNAC).
• Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance management tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong documentation and technical reporting capabilities.
• Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible and Python scripting highly regarded
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale wireless migrations or network hardware refresh projects.
• Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE, JNCIA, CWNA, or Juniper Mist certifications, a plus.
• Experience working within large-scale global network environments is preferable.
