SM Retail Inc. in Metro Manila seeks aSenior Category Merchandising Manager to drive end-to-end merchandising strategy for the assigned department.

The role requires strong analytical and commercial acumen, plus proven leadership to guide teams and influence stakeholders. You will lead planning, buying, forecasting, and assortment optimization while collaborating with marketing and product development to deliver differentiated offerings.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing, or related field required.
• At least 8 years in merchandising or product management, preferably in fashion/retail.
• Proficiency in merchandising software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.
• Ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Lead planning, selection, and buying of merchandise aligned with goals and customer needs.
• Provide disciplined documentation and review for informed decisions.
• Mentor a team of buyers/associates to strengthen category expertise.
• Use data, market intelligence and trends to forecast demand and opportunities.
• Translate insights into category strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Anticipate shifts in consumer behavior and market dynamics.
• Develop and oversee sales, stock, and assortment plans across formats.
• Ensure product mix matches customer preferences, store size, location.
• Monitor performance and adjust strategies to maximize sales, margin, and inventory productivity.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure terms and partnerships.
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product development on assortments.
• Build long-term supplier relationships to strengthen competitiveness.
• Prepare and defend category strategies and performance to senior leadership.
• Provide forward-looking recommendations based on data-driven insights.
• Champion continuous improvement, agility, and accountability in merchandising.
