Job summary

Metro Pacific Water Solutions Inc in Metro Manila is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical design efforts from concept through detailed design. You will coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, process, and instrumentation teams to ensure integrated project delivery and prepare comprehensive design documents.

The role requires conducting site inspections, reviewing drawings, supporting procurement and commissioning activities, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design and engineering activities for assigned projects from concept development through detailed design.
• Prepare, review, and approve mechanical design calculations, technical specifications, equipment selections, and engineering drawings.
• Ensure all mechanical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, structural, electrical, process, and instrumentation engineers, to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Attend technical coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for assigned projects.
• Conduct site inspections and field investigations to verify existing conditions, collect design data, and support engineering decisions.
• Review construction drawings and shop drawings to ensure compliance with approved designs and project requirements.
• Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Evaluate technical proposals, vendor submissions, and equipment specifications, and provide recommendations.
• Prepare technical reports, design basis, engineering studies, and site inspection reports.
• Identify design risks, propose value engineering opportunities, and implement cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior mechanical engineers and designers.
• Ensure project deliverables are completed accurately and submitted on schedule.
• Support troubleshooting, design modifications, and resolution of technical issues encountered during project execution.
• Perform other engineering duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
