Job description

A multinational engineering and design firm in Makati City is currently seeking for a Senior Mechanical Designer as part of its expansion locally:

Work setup-Monday to Friday (usual day shift; permanent)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing Manila team.

This is a hands-on senior role responsible for SMP discipline designing, as well as assisting the Lead Designer with the day-to-day coordination of the design team, providing technical guidance and mentoring, and ensuring design work is delivered accurately and to a high standard.

Mechanical and structural design will be your primary focus, with piping experience or exposure highly regarded as we continue to expand our piping design capability in Manila.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Lead Designer the day-to-day workload and priorities of the design team.
• Deliver and review design models and design drawings for mechanical, structural, and piping design for materials handling, and process plant design projects.
• Peer checking design work across mechanical, structural and piping disciplines.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate designers.
• Develop and review 3D models, layouts, general arrangements and detailed drawings.
• Design mechanical equipment, conveyors, chutes, launders, bins, platework and associated structures.
• Support piping layouts and isometric drawings where required.
• Coordinate with engineers and multidisciplinary teams in Manila and Australia.
• Ensure designs meet Australian Standards, client requirements and project deadlines.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 10+ years' experience in mechanical design and drafting.
• Strong experience in materials handling or process plant design.
• Previous experience mentoring or checking the work of designers.
• Experience working to Australian Standards is preferred.
• Proficiency in relevant 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, OpenBuildings designer (MicroStation), Tekla or similar.
• Strong technical problem-solving and attention to detail.
